W Bro Michael Duque writes
Westminsterian Lodge No 3344 recently celebrated an extraordinary evening in its history with the initiation of four new candidates during a specially dispensated meeting.
The event was honoured by the presence of RW Bro Julian Soper, Metropolitan Deputy Grand Master, who attended as a friend of the Lodge, showing deep personal and official support.
The Candidates, Bro Daryle Michael Lorenzini, Bro Charlie Frank Priest, Bro Cosmin Alexandru Bostaca, and Bro Christopher John Rose, each brought a special connection to the Lodge. Bro Lorenzini, notably, is a Lewis and the son of one of Westminsterian’s Past Masters, continuing a proud family tradition, while the other three were warmly welcomed as close friends of existing members.
The ceremony was delivered with an impressive level of care, dignity, and precision. From the symbolic preparation to the presentation of the white gloves and the Tracing Board, each part of the ritual was executed flawlessly, showcasing the unity and dedication of the Lodge members. This team effort, strengthened by encouragement and guidance from Metropolitan Grand Lodge and senior officers, ensured the evening was not only successful but unforgettable. Among the distinguished guests were W Bro Ian Burgess, PJGD, and the Lodge’s Visiting Officer, W Bro Michael Duque, both of whom attended to show their continued support. Current Lodge WM Alan Bishop gave way to Past Master W Bro Paul Lorenzini to preside over the Lodge, so that the latter could initiate his son in truly emotional fashion.
A highlight of the evening was RW Bro Soper’s personal presentation of the Initiate’s Guide to each of the newly made Brethren; an inspiring and heartfelt gesture that will remain with them throughout their Masonic careers. The atmosphere was filled with warmth, pride, and optimism, as the Lodge not only celebrated its growing membership but also reaffirmed its strong foundations and bright future. This memorable evening stands as a shining example of Freemasonry at its best, built on tradition, strengthened by friendship, and carried forward with vision and dedication.
